ARMY hero Andrew Stockton is to attend a fundraising event in Farndon tonight (Friday).
The bingo evening is being held at Farndon Sports and Social Club and starts at 7pm, with eyes down at 8pm.
The event is to raise money for Blesma, the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen’s Association.
More than 2,000 surviving ex-servicemen and women have lost one or more limbs in the Second World War, Korea, Suez, Aden, The Falklands, The Gulf, Northern Ireland and in support of the United Nations.
Blesma works to ensure that limbless men or women and their dependants suffer no additional anxiety or hardship.
Andrew was aboard a Land Rover on a routine patrol in Helmand province, southern Afghanistan in 2006 when the men were ambushed by Taliban fighters. His left arm had to be amputated above the elbow as a result of his injuries.
