A man was taken to hospital after falling from a scaffolding at a construction site this morning (Friday June 13).

Emergency services were alerted to the incident in Chester Road, Helsby, about 9am.

The 25-year-old casualty had to be recovered from the second storey of the scaffolding, which involved him being lowered on a spinal board by specialist firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service’s rope rescue unit. Crews from Knutsford and Frodsham were also in attendance.

The patient was handed over to paramedics who took the man, suffering from back injuries, to Whiston Hospital in St Helens. North West Ambulance Service said he was “conscious, breathing and fully alert”.
