THIEVES were tracked by the police helicopter today (May 10).
The new chopper was dispatched to reports of a theft from a garage on Bumpers Lane as several youths, aged 14 to 15, fled the scene at 4.10pm.
The aerial unit searched Vernon Road and the student area where the youths were believed to have gone.
Police on the ground retrieved the property but the helicopter crew kept up the search and were still scouring the ground at 5pm.
