CHESTER Mystery play star and Hammond school pupil David Edwards gained an A grade in music a year early.
David who played the Angel Gabriel in the plays decided to prove he really could perform by sitting the exam in year 10.
Other top performers at the school are Sophie Wright with six A* and three A grades, Lisha Chin five A* and four A grades, Sharif Afifi three A*, four A and two B grades, Katie Jones two A*, five A and two B grades.
The Hammond School is celebrating another year of 100% pass rate at GCSE level with 86% of pupils achieving 5 or more passes at A*-C grades.
Retiring Head of School, Polly Dangerfield said: “We are very proud of the results achieved by all students. We wish them every success for the future as they continue their education with academic and vocational courses next year”.
