IT WAS a case of hair today and gone tomorrow for a Chronicle competition winner.

Joyce Tattersall, of Westminster Park, won a year’s free hairdressing at the newly opened Johnston Brady studio in Watergate Street.

The grandmother of two chose a new style for her first visit and was delighted with the results.

“My hair has a tendency to have a mind of its own but I’ve woken up today and it looks just as good as it did when I had it done,” she said.

When asked if husband Stewart had noticed the transformation she said: “Well, they don’t notice an awful lot do they? My daughter said that it was the nicest she’s seen it though.”

Joyce, who runs Dee Sports, the water sports shop in Brook Street, has already booked her next appointment to have her hair coloured.

She has two daughters and two grandchildren, Lauren Ireland, seven and Ella, one week old.
