When I first get up in the morning I check my phone to see if I have received any late requests from clients for an appointment.

If I have enough time I then try to take our dog Nimo for a walk in the morning but often I’m having to go into the salon to set up for the day.

Most of my day is taken up with clients – providing them with a hair cuts, colour or a simple blow dry. However, I also have to find the time to meet with suppliers or representatives regarding new hair or beauty products which are entering the market. We pride ourselves on trying out all new products before we introduce them to clients, whether it is hair or beauty.

Unless we are absolutely convinced about how good a product is we won’t introduce it to clients.

We have recently introduced Olaplex which is a conditioning treatment added to colour which can actually repair damage. We are all huge fans!

I’m usually quite exhausted at the end of the day as I’m on my feet the whole time but if I can I will try to get to the gym or walk the dog again.

Then during the week it is usually a box set on tv and an early night ready for the next busy day.

What do you wear at work? We wear a black uniform at work as I feel it makes us look smarter and more professional. It is also practical when you are mixing colours as you do tend to get dye on your clothes.

What is the favourite part of your job? I love being with our clients and meeting new ones. I really enjoy helping clients change their hair colour or style and love it when they are delighted with their new look. I do also really love trialling any new products – so I had a lovely microdermabrasion treatment this week which we are just launching and I tried out the mink eye lashes that our HD Brow specialist is now offering. Having all these nice treats in the salon is a perk but it also means that there is a pressure to look good at all times!

What is the least favourite part of your job? Oh this definitely has to be admin and book-keeping – this is not my strong point but I know it’s necessary!

What would your dream job be if you weren’t doing what you are doing now? I do really love my job but as I’m a real foodie I would love to be a restaurant critic!

How do you relax when you are not working? I love to relax with a good boxset or I enjoy shopping or going to the gym.

What is your favourite film? I do love films so choosing my favourite is hard but I would have to say Goodfellas. It is such a classic film and I always enjoy watching it again.

What is your favourite book? I don’t seem to find much time to read so I don’t have a long list to choose from but I did really enjoy Pompeii by Robert Harris.

What is your favourite song? Definitely Photograph by Ed Sheeran

If a film was made of your life, who would you like to play you? I think Renee Zellweger. I love her in Bridget Jones’s Diary and I can’t wait for the next film.

Have you had your 15 minutes of fame? Not yet, I think this might actually be it!
