GIRLS aged 16-18 years were selected to represent Girlguiding Cheshire Forest at an International Jamboree in Austria this month.

They joined with 5,000 guides and scouts from around the world for a week-long celebration.

The camp, called ‘AQUA’ was based around the theme of water.

The girls had to raise £800 each to fund the trip by arranging various events including bag packing in supermarkets, car boot sales, raffles and a quiz night.

Girlguiding provide a programme of activities through regular weekly meetings, where girls can have girl-only space to share ideas and have fun. Visit www.cheshireforest. org.uk
