Shoppers in Grosvenor Shopping Centre, Chester, were lucky in love this Valentine’s day thanks to a visit from Capital FM, who provided competitions and giveaways to visitors in the centre.

Lucky couples with a passion for prizes played games including “guess the end of the chat up line” in a bid to win treats including tickets to see Ellie Goulding, restaurant vouchers and for those after some sweetness, delicious Millie’s cookies.

There were also over 200 red roses given to passers-by to ensure love was spread throughout the streets of Chester and beyond.

General Manager of the Grosvenor Shopping Centre Julie Webb said: “Once again Capital FM sprinkled their magic around the Grosvenor

Shopping Centre, surprising and delighting unsuspecting shoppers with old fashioned fun.

We want to continue to make sure we go the extra mile to offer our shoppers something different when they visit us and we hope that firing Cupid’s bow kicks off another year of fantastic activities that all the family can enjoy.”

A spokesperson from Capital North West and Wales said “It’s always a great competition when we work with the Grosvenor Shopping Centre and this was no exception.

With some cheeky Valentine’s content on air, it was really nice to give away some great prizes, including meals at Piccolino’s and Ellie Goulding tickets… with a chauffeur to take the overall winner there!”
