Renovations to one of Chester’s premier shopping rows have been finished.
Replacement gutters, installation of a safety walkway and roof repairs were needed to St Michael’s Row in Grosvenor Shopping Centre.
Businesses had been trading as normal during the work, but scaffolding down the pathway was cleared on October 26 in time for Christmas trade to start coming in.
Shops on St Michael’s Row include Kayes jewellers, Loake men’s footwear and the Eye Emporium.
Armitage Construction carried out the work on the Grade II building.
Further approval from the council planning department was needed for the walkway and handrail system.
Taking down the scaffolding means the traditional Christmas decorations can be put up in the row.
Grosvenor Shopping Centre said they hope to have their St Michael’s Row Christmas tree up on November 13.
