A CHESTER pub is celebrating after a successful Christmas party in aid of a good cause.

The Grosvenor Arms Handbridge held a Christmas party for the volunteers at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

The party, which took place last week, welcomed about 60 guests, who indulged in a buffet and won prizes in the raffle.

Pat Wilde, licensee of The Grosvenor Arms, said: “It was a brilliant success and I support the hospice all the way and have done for many years. They are really lovely people and the volunteers are little angels.

“All prizes of the raffle were donated by local residents of Chester and amongst the winnings was a massive fruit hamper and a beautiful display of flowers.”

Pat added: “I feel very strongly about supporting this particular cause and will continue to do so for as long as I’m licensee. I urge anyone thinking about donating to a charity to consider the Hospice of the Good Shepherd because if it were to close, it would be a real disaster.”
