An education centre has secured funding to improve the environment near Cherry Grove Primary School in Great Boughton.
Cheshire Development Education Centre applied to the New Homes Community Bonus Fund to inspire children, young people and adults to be proud of the area and to tidy up a ‘grot spot’.
A community day in June, held to coincide with the Cherry Grove Street Party, was a success with new artwork created. This followed a successful event earlier in the year.
Artists Bee Buckmaster, Leena Narsai-Latham and Amanda Barr worked with the children on translating their line drawings into a mural.
Other projects included creating wire butterflies, insects and bees to attach to the railings.
