A VILLAGE nursery is hoping their new pupils will flourish and bloom just like the bluebells it is named after.

The Bluebell Nursery, which is based at Tilston Primary School, near Malpas, was officially opened on September 14 by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Neil Ritchie, supported by the director of children and young people’s services, John Stephens.

Children their parents and staff members gathered to celebrate the nursery’s opening and watch the Lord Mayor and Mr Stephens cut the ribbon to mark the event.

Bluebell nursery is led by Pam Edwards, a teacher who has experience and expertise in the early years foundation stage, and she will be supported by two qualified teaching assistants, Carol Toan and Jo Hewitt.

Mrs Edwards said: “ We are extremely grateful to the director for the personal interest he has shown in developing our new provision.

“With 15 hours a week of free entitlement, the new nursery is, first and foremost, a place for two and threeyear-olds to have fun with their friends. They will also, without realising it, be learning because the Bluebell Nursery is based at Tilston School.”
