A UNIQUE venue in Dodleston has launched a solo exhibition of a rising art star.

Gorstella Gallery is showcasing the work of local artist Matthew Snowden.

A private viewing was held last week in the converted Cheshire barn, with 48 pieces from his latest collection on display.

Landscape artist Matthew spent years touring Britain in his camper van capturing a variety of British landscapes. His latest collection includes a Winter Storm, Anglesey, Turquoise Sea, Barra and a piece bringing Delamere Forest to life.

Matthew said: “I’m very excited by the response so far to my first solo exhibition at Gorstella Gallery.

“I’ve been involved in a number of exhibitions at Gorstella over the years and I love the venue. It’s unique location and environment perfectly suits the rugged British countryside style of my work.”

Gallery owner Bridget Kimber said: “Having had the pleasure of exhibiting Matt’s work before, we know he is one of the most original and sought after landscape artists working today and his work is going to be hugely popular for visitors and collectors.”

The exhibition continues this weekend.
