As part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s Transformation agenda to enhance partnerships within education and training, Glyndwr University and Yale College have announced their intention to undertake an Options Appraisal to explore various partnership models.
The respective Governing Bodies are fully committed to ensuring that this process remains objective and acknowledge that this can only be truly achieved via the appointment of an external, independent observer. The Options Appraisal will take place over the next few months and will be funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Both Governing Bodies are fully committed to retaining the ethos and identity of their respective institutions but also acknowledge that by working together the opportunities for progression and quality of education for learners can be further enhanced. Each Governing Body remains open minded about the outcome of the Options Appraisal and the identification of a preferred model for partnership.
Professor Michael Scott, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of Glyndwr University said: “This is an exciting opportunity for both institutions to ensure a world class learning infrastructure is realised within Wrexham.”
Paul Croke, Principal of Yale College added: “We are all committed to ensuring the learners of Wrexham are afforded the opportunity to reach their full potential and the Options Appraisal provides us with the ideal mechanism to explore the best way to do this. We will ensure that all stakeholders and partners of the two institutions will be kept fully informed as the process evolves”.
