The election campaign has well and truly started with Prime Minister David Cameron and opposition leader Ed Miliband facing voters on TV last night (Thursday, March 26).

But you may have spotted more than one MP in and around Chester and Ellesmere Port already this year and we have put together a gallery of those who have made the journey up north.

David Cameron himself was in Chester in February chatting to pupils at Upton Heath CE Primary School, after announcing that the school will receive £2million from the Government’s flagship Priority School Building Programme (PSBP).

And the possible future 2020 PM Boris Johnson dined with the Tory faithful at Chester Racecourse last Friday night, March 20.

Representing the opposition Harriet Harman MP, deputy leader of the Labour Party, joined Labour's Parliamentary Candidate for Weaver Vale Julia Tickridge on the controversial Pink Bus in Northwich at the end of February.

And Luciana Berger MP, shadow public health minister, joined Chris Matheson, Labour's candidate for Chester at St Martin's Clinic to promote a ground-breaking scheme to help smokers quit the habit.

It's not always a tough job though - Chester MP Stephen Mosley and Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Liz Truss got to sample Cheshire made ice cream with directors of Backford Belles Ice Cream, brother and sister Mark and Ruth Littler recently.
