IT was a record breaking year for Tarporley high school’s GCSE pupils.

85% of the school’s pupils gained at least five A*-C, with 74% of students achieving the key measure of 5 or more GCSEs at grade A*-C including English and maths.

An impressive 99% of students gained five or more GCSE passes amd most students in the year group, 95%, achieved at least two science GCSEs at A*-C.

Headteacher, Sarah Lee said:“These results reflect the talent, commitment and determination to achieve their personal best shown by all our students, the tremendous support given by parents and families, as well as the high quality and dedication of our staff.”

She added: “Congratulations go all students who will be celebrating a happy day today. Many have gained top grades, with 29 students on eight or more A* and A grades. Special mention for their A* and A grades goes to the following all-round high achievers:
