KING’S School pupils have been aiming for the stars this year as they celebrate GCSE success.

Almost 40% of pupils gained A* or A grades in ten subjects or more and just under three quarters of all grades awarded were at A* or A.

Miriam Bowen, 16, of Oswestry passed 12 GCSE with 10 A* and 2 A grades.

Five other students gained straight A* in all their ten subjects – Kate Coppack, 15, of Hawarden, Felicity Elsegood, 16, of Bunbury, Laura Haylock,16, of Llanbedr-Dyffryn-Clwyd, Luke Howarth, 16, of Mickle Trafford and Henry Crouch- Smith, 16, of Great Barrow.

A further 29 pupils gained 10 A*/A grade GCSEs and one student gained 11 GCSEs with A/A*.

Headmaster Chris Ramsey commented:’, “We are delighted for all our Year 11 pupils who have got such excellent grades through sheer hard work from themselves and also their teachers. We wish them every success as they progress into sixth form for A levels.”
