A week after their A level success, Helsby High School students have again done themselves proud on GCSE results day.

Analysis showed 79% of all students have gained at least 5 A* to C grades, with 99% earning at least 5 A* to G grades.

For core subjects, 66% achieved 5 A*-C including maths and English.

Headteacher John Dowler praised students and recognised the contribution made by families and school staff.

He said: “We are delighted that the hard work of our students has been reflected in the results that they deserve.

“There have been many outstanding performances.

“We would like to wish the class of 2015 well for the future.”

Particular congratulations go to the 62 students who have gained at least 5 A* or A grades.

Impressively, 27 high-achievers opened their envelopes to see they had managed 8 or more A* or A grades.

Mr Dowler added: “I would like to thank our staff for their commitment and dedication, and the students’ families for their support and help.”
