STUDENTS and staff at Christleton High school are once again celebrating a bumper GCSE year.

The percentage of students achieving five A*-C grades including English and maths stands at a “pleasing” 75% and 93% of students have gained 5 GCSE grades of A*-C - an increase of 6% on last year.

More than 30% of the results were at A* and A grades and an incredible 22 students have attained A* and A grades in at least eight subjects.

Headteacher Tony Lamberton said: “The school welcomes the outstanding attainment of our students. These results reflect all their hard work and commitment as well as the strong support they have received from their parents and teachers.

“The governors congratulate all candidates and their teachers on such impressive performances.”

Star student Amy Hughes achieved an amazing total of 12 A* grades and 2 grade A’s in AS maths and general studies.

The school says that 97% of all candidates have gained at least one C grade in ICT, which is one of the school’s specialisms.
