BLACON High are celebrating the best GCSE results in the history of the school.

More students than ever achieved their potential with 38% of students achieving five or more A*-C grades including English and mathematics and 75% of students achieving five or more A*-C grades in general.

Acting headteacher Lynne Fox said: “This achievement truly reflects the hard work that goes on at Blacon on a daily basis.

“Despite some upset earlier this year, staff and students have remained absolutely focused on our core business and worked terrifically hard to ensure that each individual student has been supported to achieve all they are capable of.

“This provides a magnificent platform for these young people to move on from towards the next stage in their career and for staff at school to build on to continue to create a learning climate that focuses on success and ambition.

“I am truly proud of everyone who has made these achievements possible.”
