Students at The Bishops’ Blue Coat CE High School are celebrating success in their GCSE examinations.
Over 80% of students gained at least one A or A* grade in their results and 76% of students attained five A* to C grades or more.
High-flyer Andrew Thornton bagged a clean sweep of 13 A*s including a rare A* distinction result in further mathematics.
Other high attaining students included Molly Hunt who picked up 11 A*s and two As, Georgia Wallach achieved 11 A*s and one A and Holly Davies earned seven A*s and five As.
Interim headteacher Peter Coates said, “This is a great set of results.
“They are a reflection of the hard work of our students, the support of their families and the dedication and commitment of our staff.”
Hollie Wilkinson achieved six A*s and five As, Callum Geraghty scored four A*s and eight As while Tom Colston and Henrietta Henson both achieved four A*s and six As.
Holly Cousins and Sophie Davis each picked up three A*s and nine As, Emma Reynolds earned two A*s and 10 As, Kate Pilcher achieved two A*s and eight As and Louise O’Brien attained one A* and nine As.
Mr Coates said: “We are proud of all of our students including those who achieved the top grades and those who, while not necessarily obtaining the highest grades, secured ones that demonstrated significant progress in their journey through secondary school.”
A special mention was made to students who achieved well beyond their estimated grades including Elliot McCully, Anna McGarva, Mollie Stradling, and Marcus Reynolds.
