Hard working pupils at The Grange School in Hartford were rewarded with another set of notable GCSE results with an impressive 94.4% A*-B.

Just over 75% of all examination results were awarded at A or A* with 33% of pupils achieving nine or more A* and A grades.

This high level of achievement, with each pupil gaining on average an A grade in all subjects, has been overseen by head of year, Rick Hibbert.

As well as leading the modern languages faculty, he has been head of year to this age group for 21 years, guiding this year’s students to these results.

Rick Hibbert, head of year 11, said: “In 21 years as head of year, I have seen many changes in school, highlights being the consistent GCSE results when invariably our students exceed all expectations and watching the journeys taken by different cohorts of children as they grow into young adults on the cusp of sixth form study.

“I have enjoyed this role but have come to realise that it is time to pass on the baton as there are children in this latest year group whose parents I taught many years ago!”
