Pupils at Christleton High School are celebrating excellent GCSE results, with 80% of students achieving 5 A*-C grades, which included 85% A*-C grades in English and 79% in mathematics.

Head of Year 11 Sheila Lister said: “It is a privilege to be in a position where we can encourage people to aspire and aim high. Excellent exam results do not happen by chance, but as a result of dedicated hard work. Today, the students reap their rewards and we celebrate together. It’s now a time to begin exciting new chapters and challenges, and I wish them every success!”

The school is delighted for its students but there are some outstanding individual successes, with 31 students achieving 8 or more A*-A grades; Hannah Jones and Isabella Cornwell both achieved 10 A* grades, Jessica Dunning gained 9 A* grades and Graeme Mochrie, 8 A* grades.

Headteacher Damian Stenhouse said: “We were aware of the strength of this year’s cohort and so we set high expectations. I am extremely proud of our Year 11 students, and delighted for them in achieving these fantastic results. On behalf of the staff and governors at Christleton High School. I wish them every success in their future studies and careers.”
