Christleton High School’s students are celebrating once again after receiving outstanding exam results – with a remarkable 99% of all year 11 students achieving eight or more GCSEs.

Among that group, no fewer than 84% gained five A*-C grades including English and maths. Pupils and teachers are “very pleased”.

Ceri Sullivan, head of year 11, said: “This is a fantastic set of grades. I couldn’t be happier for the students and staff with these fabulous results.”

A record number of 29 students achieved eight or more A*-A grades, with seven of them achieving eight or more A* grades alone. Overall, results have improved by a remarkable 8% on last year, ahead of the national trend. This followed the school’s determination to develop independent and creative approaches to learning.

Headteacher Tony Lamberton said: “We are incredibly proud of our students’ success. We had very high expectations of this year group and they have more than come to fruition in these outstanding results. These are challenging times for young people and it is inspiring to see how committed and hardworking they are.
