GREEN fingered residents are hoping to keep light fingered thieves away from their garden tools this summer after receiving security tips from Halton's Crime Reduction Advisor.

Phil Buckley is urging owners of gardening tools and equipment to keep them locked away when not in use.

Mr Buckley said: 'I would encourage residents to review the security they have for their shed. Break-ins are more common at this time of year and it is important sheds are fitted with a suitable lock/padlock to prevent thieves from gaining access.'
