The weird and wonderful world of Alice in Wonderland was brought to life by Stardust Drama club last week.

The talented group performed its own take on the classic tale at Guilden Sutton Village Hall on Friday, July 17, to the delight of an audience filled with proud friends and family.

Stardust Drama is run by former actress Stephanie Pinder at different sites across Chester, catering for children from five-12 years old.

Stephanie said: “We worked on the production Alice In Wonderland for quite a long time from the first read through in February right up to the performance on the 17th of July.

“The children worked extremely hard, learning lines and developing lovely characterisations for their roles. They often came up to me with ideas which we then incorporated. Some of the children even came in one day having made the ‘Drink Me’ potion in a gorgeous bottle -to this day I have no idea what was in it!

“Everyone had a hand in costumes, with lots being bought by the parents, which I was very grateful for. I have a few costumes in my props box at home and my mum very kindly made the playing card costumes. Thank goodness for the internet which was invaluable when it came to sourcing other props, like giant flowers, the meadow backdrop, blow up flamingoes, etc! I was extremely proud of all the talented children I have in the class, they really were fantastic.”

Stephanie also runs another group on a Monday that recently performed A Fairytale Mix Up and a Little Stars group on Fridays that took part in A Caterpillar’s Voice.
