THE funeral will take place today of a Chester teenager killed in a collision.

Former Christleton High School pupil Claudia Ella Williams, 19, died at the scene when a car driven by 20-year-old boyfirend Rick Bromley collided with a tree on School Lane in Guilden Sutton, Chester on June 24.

The West Cheshire College student, of Pipers Lane, Hoole, was coming to the end of a three-year course at the Ellesmere Port campus.

The funeral, billed as a pink day by her family, will take place at 10.40am at Blacon Crematorium on Thursday, July 11.

The family have invited flowers from friends and family only, with donations to the accident and emergency department at the Countess of Chester Hospital welcome.

They have also asked that people attending wear pink clothes.

A funeral breakfast will follow at the Oaklands Hotel in Hoole, where all are welcome.

A week after the collision, on Monday, July 1, Bromley was arrested and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The couple had spent the evening with Claudia’s father Nigel, and sisters Mathilda, 10, and Madeline, 17, at the Old Trooper in Christleton.
