A CHARITY evening will be held at the Lord Binning Pub, Kelsall, on June 29, to raise money for two different charities.
Teenager Alex Staniforth, who carried the Olympic flame through Chester last month, has organised the event ahead of his climbing Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps, in July.
The 16-year-old has chosen to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the Red Endangered Animal Connection Trust and is aiming to raise £4,810 from the feat, which equates to £1 for every metre climbed.
At the event, which kicks off at 8pm, there will be music from Delamere band Fifty Fingers , a charity raffle and an auction featuring including a signed Liverpool FC shirt, signed Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars CDs and a signed Nick Knowles T-shirt.
Local businesses have been generously donating prizes for the raffle, including Pryors Hayes Golf Club who have donated free membership, T&G builders who have given a day’s labour and Smartmoney who have donated a night’s stay at the Chester Grosvenor.
Tickets for the event cost £10 and can be bought by calling 07890 454 207.
