Supporters of Parkinson’s UK in Chester have helped raise more than £9,000 for the charity.

Some 113 walkers completed seven or nine miles of the Walk for Parkinson’s – Chester earlier this year.

Although the day started with beautiful blue skies, the rain soon followed and all the walkers were drenched by the time they finished, although all were still smiling.

Regional fundraiser for Parkinson’s UK in the North West, Sarah Green, said: “I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who walked, sponsored and volunteered on the day.

“To date we have raised £9,000 which will support people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers.

“My special thanks go to the amazing volunteers who marshalled the walk as well as Eccleston CE Primary School for allowing us to use their car park as our base. Their headteacher, Katie Cade, also took part in the walk.”
