FOUR Chester fundraisers completed a coast to coast challenge and raised more than £2,000 for charity.
Tim Beesley, Ben Hawkins, Simon Sykes, and Ben Griffiths took part in a journey covering more than 100 miles which took in views of some of the most picturesque locations in the Scottish Highlands, including Loch Ness and Ben Nevis.
The challenge was spread over two days and consisted of an 11km run, 77k cycle and a 3k kayak – all on day one. Day two was a 55k off-road cycle, a 23k trek up Ben Nevis, and a 1.5k kayak.
The team came 18th out of 650 and raised £2,662.66 for Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology’s charity ‘Clatterbridge Your Cancer Centre’.
Tim said: “We decided to support Clatterbridge as both our family and friends have received fantastic treatment at the centre and we wanted to say thank you. The fact that our loved ones have been treated at Clatterbridge really motivated us throughout our fundraising and the challenge itself. I think that’s why we did so well!”
The team would like to thank everyone that donated to the cause, including everyone at Ball Packaging, Neatcrown, Foster Wheeler and Shell Stanlow – plus a huge special thanks to Sophie Beesley who, despite being seven months pregnant, drove the support van from coast to coast.
