MORE than £6,000 was raised for community charities at the 21st annual Tarporley Carnival.

The glorious sunshine arrived just in time for the carnival, which was jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Tarporley and the District Round Table.

With ‘village life’ the theme for this year, the event began with the Carnival’s popular parade down Tarporley High Street.

Carnival chairman, Andrew Wallace said: “Once again the Tarporley community came together for a great day.

“This has been another great Tarporley carnival and I’d like to thank all the members of Round Table and Tarporley Rotary Club, as well as the many volunteers from local community groups and organisations, who have worked hard to make the carnival such a success.
