FANCY dress fun runners, joggers and walkers are wanted to take part in the Sport Relief Mile next Sunday.

Helsby Community Sports Club, Chester Road, is hosting the national event on March 21 at 10.30am to raise funds for Comic Relief to transform lives in the UK and across the world.

Michelle Pickstock of the sports club said: “The Helsby and 10 Bridge Mile is set to be an amazing day. It’s fantastic that so many local people are gathering together to show their support.

“We want this to be the best Sport Relief event yet, so we still need more people to raise their game and join us to raise plenty of cash.

“We are encouraging people to come down in fancy dress and really make it a family day.”

A group warm-up will be held at 10.30am with Terry Samuels from the 10 Bridge Clinic accompanied by the Roman Goddesses Cheerleading squad.

Refreshments will be on sale and there will be a face-painter and free health checks from the 10 Bridge Clinic.

Runners can choose their own distance from one, three or six miles and anyone can take part.
