A YOUTH club in Frodsham has been redecorated by the young people who use the centre.

The Red Room at the Connexions Youth Club, the Frodsham and Rainbow Youth Club, Fluin Lane, was renovated by a group of young volunteers.

Connexions spokesman Kellie Burgess said: “After a discussion it was decided that an art project to redecorate the club was what was needed.

“The project ran through the summer to decorate the music room with the group meeting once a week in the evening, as the project progressed more and more young people became involved.”

Youth worker Helen Davies added: “It was decided the room needed to have an image, a theme rather than just decoration and the young people were keen to put some of their personality on to it which is where idea for the life size images of themselves came from.

“The project was really challenging and everyone involved worked really hard. The room looks great and they have created a space that they can be really proud of.”

Managers at the centre are now planning to redesign the computer room at the club.

Meetings for the group involved are on Wednesdays at the club from 4pm to 6pm and is open to anyone aged 11-19.
