A YOUTH charity which successfully bid for £40,000 to update its facilities is now under threat.
Frodsham Youth Association – which won funds from Connexions Cheshire and Warrington for their building in Fluin Lane, Frodsham – is struggling to recruit adult helpers and could face closure unless volunteers are found.
Kathy Hardy, vice chairwoman of Frodsham Youth Association – which is used by about 100 young people per week – said: “This is a great building and the young people love it.
“We have Wii games, pool, an IT suite, coffee bar, and we also offer a wide range of experiences to aid young people’s development.
“But I am afraid that we will have to close unless local adults are prepared to support us.
“We need local people to sit with us on the committee and help out behind the scenes.
“Just one or two hours per week would be amazing.”
The next management committee meeting will be held at the centre on Wednesday, May 12, at 7pm and it is hoped new committee members will come forward.
