A WOMAN has spoken about losing her ‘soulmate’ in a car accident on their way to work.
Kim Dale was driving the Vauxhall Astra in which Carol Anderson was a front seat passenger when it was involved in a collision with a Mini One on Station Road, Delamere Forest, last Saturday morning.
Carol, 44, a mother-of-two, suffered internal injuries when a wooden roadside barrier penetrated the passenger compartment.
Kim, a sales executive, and Carol, a chef, who lived at Kingswood Park, near Frodsham, were just two minutes from arriving at the Discover caravan dealership, formerly Harringtons, where they both worked.
Kim, 38, who has been left ‘absolutely shattered’, said: “We worked together, we lived together, we spent every minute of every day together and never spent a night apart. We had worked together for the last 11 years.”
She described Carol as ‘full of life’ and said they were due to get married this year. They loved holidays abroad, enjoying a break in Egypt just last month, with plans to settle overseas.
Kim, who was not injured in the accident, first met Carol when they were nurses at a care home in Nantwich. Until two years ago, the couple had run The Durham Heifer pub, now The Olive Grove, in Broxton.
Carol was mother to Pete, 19, and Amanda, who turns 21 in two weeks. Amanda, who is to train to be a nurse just like her mum wanted, said she ‘always knew what was right for you’.
Pete, a trainee engineer at Rolls-Royce in Winsford, said his mum was ‘always having a laugh’.
Carol was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with serious injuries and died that afternoon.
The 30-year-old Mini driver, from Winsford, who was uninjured, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was bailed until March 8 pending further enquiries.
