A REFUSAL by Frodsham town council to donate £300 to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution has been challenged.

Councillor Frank Pennington said he was amazed that a £300 donation request by the RNLI’s Frodsham and District branch to buy gazebos to help with outdoor fundraising was rejected by the Finance, Personnel and General Purposes Committee.

He said: “We gave North West Air Ambulance a grant and they are based outside the area but they are called in when needed.

“It’s no different if a Frodsham resident is away on holiday and needs a lifeboat to rescue them.”
