RESIDENTS should have a say in how public money is spent in Frodsham, say town councillors.

Welcoming the town council’s adoption of a new financial strategy, including a capital expenditure programme for the next three to five years, Cllr Lynn Riley said: “We also need to ask the people of Frodsham what they would like to see and how they would like us to spend their precepted money.

“It’s important that we send the message out to the community that we are very serious about doing what they want us to.”

Cllr Andrew Dawson added: “A public consultation is inescapable. Residents need to be formally involved in setting the town council’s capital budget.”
