VULNERABLE children now have a new legal champion to protect their rights – Frodsham solicitor Karah Lane.

Karah, who is an expert in family law at Frodsham solicitors Forshaw Davies Ridgway (FDR), has just been appointed to the Law Society Children’s Panel.

This means she can now be called on by family courts to represent the interests of children involved in acrimonious divorce or care proceedings. She can act as an independent champion for a child to help ensure their interests are paramount in any court decision-making.

Karah said: “Protecting children’s interests is one of the most worthwhile jobs a solicitor can do.”

Karah, who has worked at the FDR office in Frodsham for seven years, handles all kinds of family law issues from divorce and financial disputes to adoption, care proceedings and residence issues. She is also one of a diminishing number of solicitors able to take on legal aid cases.

She and her FDR colleague Ruth Hetherington are the only two solicitors in Frodsham qualified to deal with legal issues regulated by the Children’s Panel.
