FRODSHAM Players are putting on their version of John Mortimer’s autobiographical A Voyage Round my Father.

Popular for their recreations of The Wind in the Willows and The Railway Children, members of the 60-year-old drama group decided to challenge themselves with a lesser-known production.

The play centres around John Mortimer’s memories of life with his eccentric father, the brilliant divorce barrister Clifford Mortimer, who continued with his career at the Old Bailey despite having lost his sight in 1936 when he struck his head on a tree branch.

Satirical, touching and thought-provoking, the story promises to engage audiences.

The show is on at the Frodsham Community Centre until Saturday April 9.

Tickets cost £6 and can be bought either on the door or in advance by calling 01928-740495.
