Frodsham Library is inviting unpaid carers to join their new reading group to take some time out from their daily routine, allowing them time to reflect, socialise and relax.

Carers, and the people they are looking after, are welcome to join the library’s unpaid carers’ weekly reading group, which starts on Wednesday, January 20 from 10.30am to noon.

There are more than 6,500,000 carers in the UK, providing unpaid care by looking after an ill, older or disabled family member, friend or partner and this number is increasing every year.

Cllr Louise Gittins, Cabinet member for culture, leisure and wellbeing, said: “I hope as many carers as possible come along and join the new group.

“Reading together provides a shared and common experience and promotes a greater sense of wellbeing and improved sense of self-worth. It also provides care and support for the carer.”

Ellesmere Port Library - Tuesdays, 10.30am to noon

Northwich Carers Centre - Tuesdays, 1.30pm to 3pm
