The family of a cyclist who died in a road traffic collision last Thursday (June 12) have described him as a ‘loving, caring and loyal man’.

Michael Davies, 33, of Frodsham, died from injuries sustained in the crash involving two cars on Birchfield Drive, Widnes.

A statement released by Mr Davies’ family said: “We always knew Michael was a loving, caring and loyal man. He managed to spread his happy personality to a great many people.

"We are overwhelmed by all the loving tributes he has received. It makes us very proud to be parents to such a popular man. He will be so greatly missed by all of us.”

Mr Davies’ wife Vicki added: “Mike was my husband, my best friend, a wonderful father to our beautiful daughter and my true soul mate.

“He was loved by everyone who had the pleasure to meet him. I feel truly blessed that I was the person he chose to spend the rest of his life with.

"RIP Mike, you will be forever in our hearts."

The former Helsby High School pupil celebrated his 33rd birthday last Wednesday.

Tributes poured in on social media for Mr Davies, with friends describing him as a ‘lovely man’ and ‘the best mate you could wish for’.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision, which occurred shortly after 4pm.
