FRODSHAM and District Choral Society are singing the praises of their new conductor and accompanist.

Members are delighted to have secured the services of conductor, Howard Kane. Howard has a long association with choral music, both as a singer and conductor – and the Frodsham group say his commitment to their ethos of education and enjoyment, together with his plans for a wide-ranging repertoire, has attracted more singers and boosted concert audience numbers.

Since last January, Howard has also been ably assisted by the society’s talented new accompanist, Robert Woods, who has committed to the group while completing his Choral and Organ studies at Liverpool University.

Members’ new plans include an exciting programme to celebrate the society’s 40th anniversary next year – and this November will see the premiere of a piece of music specially commissioned by the society to mark Frodsham’s 800th anniversary of the granting of the borough charter, with music composed by Matt baker and Andrew Rudd.

Music lovers can enjoy the choir – also sporting a new uniform – their conductor and accompanist in action when they perform an evening of opera choruses and Music From The Shows at their summer concert at Frodsham Community Centre on June 27, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets at £6 and £8 are available at Frodsham Frames in Main Street, from Nikki Hankey on (01928) 718246 or at the door.
