A cyclist who died in a road traffic collision in Widnes on Thursday (June 12) has been named as Michael Davies, from Frodsham.
Mr Davies, 33, died from injuries sustained in a collision involving a Ford Mondeo and a van on Birchfield Road, which occurred at 4.12pm.
The former Helsby High School pupil, who celebrated his 33rd birthday last Wednesday, was married and had recently become a father.
Friends of Mr Davies paid tribute to him on social media, describing him as a 'lovely man' and 'the best mate you could wish for'.
Anyone with any information about the collision should call Cheshire police on 101 quoting incident number 675 of June 12.
