FAMILIES enjoying last week’s snow scattered one tonne of litter across a picturesque field – including 50 sledges.

As heavy snow covered the region last week dozens of residents dragged their sledges to Cave Fields in Frodsham to enjoy hours of fun sledging and having snowball fights.

But after the fun was over farmers were left faced with a mammoth clear-up operation as families and teenagers abandoned mountains of broken sledges, empty food wrappers and beer bottles across the snow-covered fields.
