TWO friends will cycle from London to Paris to raise money for a charity who is caring for one of their grandfather’s.
Dave Burgess, aged 29, from Whitchurch, and Nick Webb, 31, from Malpas, are hoping to raise £2,400 for the Alzheimers Society.
Nick’s grandfather Harold Partridge is cared for by the Shropshire division of the society.
Nick said: “I felt very fitting to raise money for a charity that means something to me.
“We are both keen cyclists and have been training hard, and are now looking to just raise as much money as we can.”
The ride will take four days and will start on September 16. The first day will take the pair from south London through the Kent countryside to Dover.
Nick and Dave will then catch a ferry and the next day will ride through Hesdin and on to Abbyville covering 75 miles.
On day three the pair will follow the River Somme east to Beauvais travelling 80 miles. The final part is a 60 mile ride into Paris and a finish under the Eiffel Tower.
