A FORMER Chester College student has published his second historical novel, just months after finishing his first.
Peter Youds, pictured, has written The Colour of Blood, the second title in his Ties of Blood series, original historical novels which tell the story of how a small British army and its Spanish and Portuguese allies defied the might of Napoleon for seven years – before finally defeating him at Waterloo.
Peter said: “This isn’t dry history – the tale of brave young fighters being sent to distant shores, under-funded and ill-equipped, might well find echoes in today’s world.
“It is my job to weave romance and adventure into the extraordinary events that really took place.”
Son of Jack Youds, a professional golfer, Peter studied English and drama at the then Chester College and once trod the boards at the Chester Gateway Theatre as part of a Cheshire County Council youth theatre project.
Peter’s first book Alone With Glory was published earlier this year to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Corunna.
The Colour of Blood and Alone With Glory are published by Bicorn Books and are available online only from www. bicorn.co.uk for £10.99 (inc P&P).
