Former Chester City FC junior player and ex-Wales footballer Ched Evans will have his rape conviction heard by the Court of Appeal in just under three weeks.

Evans, 27, was jailed for raping a 19-year-old woman in a hotel in 2011.

He was convicted of rape at Caernarfon Crown Court in 2012 and was sentenced to five years in prison.

He pleaded not guilty and has consistently maintained his innocence.
