A new Footgolf course will be launched in Winsford on Saturday. The course, at Knights Grange Sports Complex, is one of 85 official Footgolf venues across the UK.
It will be the first in the area and was brought to life with the help of the official UKFootgolf association.
Football and golf enthusiasts will now have the chance to take part in fun competitions and be part of the official launch.
The 18-hole course sits alongside the main golf course at Knights Grange providing a new year-round recreation opportunity to the local area and further afield.
Manager Rhys Jones said: “Footgolf is set to be a fantastic addition. It has already proved to be a great leisure activity for groups of friends and families here at Knights Grange. Now weʼre excited to open the course up to local sports teams in the area along with any-one who may not have given it a go yet.
“The aim of the game (as with golf) is to get the ball in the hole in the minimum amount of shots possible! But players will be helped with larger sized holes to kick into and shorter distances.”
Players are welcome to bring along their own football if they wish, though footballs will be available for hire from the venue for a small charge.
There are no formal dress requirements but players should be advised that football boots are not allowed so suitable trainers or astroturf boots should be worn.
The launch takes place from 2pm on Saturday, April 30 and those coming to take part can take advantage of opening day offers and get involved in longest kick and nearest the pin competitions with prizes on offer for the winners.
For more information on opening times and prices call into Knights Grange Sports Complex or visit their Footgolf Facebook page.
Prices start from £5 for children / £10 for adults for 18 holes and rounds take around two hours to complete.
