A CASUALTY was taken to hospital after a fire at a food outlet at the CarFest motoring event in Cholmondeley.

CarFest North, organised by TV and radio star Chris Evans, took place at the Cholmondeley Estate on Saturday and Sunday, raising money for BBC Children in Need.

At 10.15am on Sunday firefighters from Nantwich station were called to the event but upon arrival they discovered the fire had gone out.

Crews isolated all the gas appliances and did an inspection with a Thermal Image Camera to ensure the unit posed no further risk of fire.

One man had been taken to hospital.
