A FLASHER found guilty of exposing himself to three women and sexually assaulting another has been jailed for 12 months.
Mark Stephen Platt, of Fingerpost Lane, Norley, was found guilty of four counts of exposure and one of sexual assault following a trial at Chester Crown Court in March.
Three of the incidents took place in Chester, one in Northwich and one in Winsford.
The 48 year-old has now been sentenced to six months for each exposure and 12 months for the assault, to be served concurrently.
Platt committed his offences during a three-year period between May 2006 and May 2009.
Police received reports of a man driving a white van, pulling over next to women on their own, asking for directions then exposing himself to them.
On one occasion on March 2, 2009, in Woodford Lane, Winsford, Platt grabbed one of the women as she tired to walk away from him.
PC Beverley Sissons, who conducted the investigation into Platt’s offences, said: “Many of the women approached by Platt were left shaken and are wary about walking alone. These incidents happened during the day in busy areas.
“We take incidents of this nature very seriously and have trained officers who deal with sexual offences. I would urge anyone who has been a victim of this type of offence to report it to police.”
Platt was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years by Judge Roger Dutton.
